You’re probably all aware now that WordPress has seen a major update in wp 3.3. the update has not gone too smoothly for a lot of people either. There are major issues particularly with editors and javascripts. For the first time ever in using wordpress I’ve rolled back an update to the previous version because of the problems on the latest wordpress 3.3.
Until I’ve been able to double check all my mods in the new WordPress 3.3 I’ve slashed the prices – but there is NO support for them. If you’re going to follow my lead and stick with WordPress 3.2 then all these mods and hacks will work for you.
In the new year I will be putting together a new range of mods and hacks for WordPress and WP Ecommerce that are 3.3 compatible.
Until then enjoy the new cheap but unsupported hacks and mods.
I think most of them will be WordPress 3.3 compatible but there’s no guarantees. The one hack I do know does not work in WordPress 3.3 but works without a problem in WordPress 3.2 is the add tinymce to the additional descriptions field in wp ecommerce 3.8.
This is caused by the change over to the_editor api call. I have done a partial update for this – ie I’ve got the tinymce to show but the output is a bit garbled due to a Json conflict. Javascript conflicts is an issue that is coming up time and time again in WordPress 3.3 and is possibly going to be address in 3.3.1 – hopefully out soon.
I’ll not be doing any testing or new mods and hacks until the release of wordpress 3.3.1.
As things stand all my mods are available at £5.00 each and the 7 hack pack is available for £15.00. If you are planning on staying on WordPress 3.2 for sometime – at least until the WP 3.3 issues are resolved then it’s a good time to buy.
In mid Janauary I’ll start to put together a range of wordpress 3.3 compatible hacks and mods.
In the mean time have a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
