- Site organisation.
After tonight you will be comfortable with using the official WordPress theme resources, search for professional paid for themes and understand the risks of ‘free’ themes. You will also know when to use pages as opposed to posts and understand the difference between categories and tags. You will be able to organise a structure to your web site for visitors and search engines.
Wednesday 15th Feb.

- Using shortcodes.
- Search and speed.
After tonight you will understand how to search for and add extra functions to your basic WordPress web site using plugins. You will understand how to call extra features in your web site either through the sidebar or within the page itself. You will also understand the value of caching and basic search engine optimisation.
Wednesday 22nd Feb.
- Laying out a page or post.
- Setting your home page.
- Understanding permalinks.
- Preparing to launch your web site.
After tonight you will understand how correct layout of your page can help search engines to understand what you are writing about. You will be able to set the home page to your choice. You will understand how WordPress assigns a page it’s url and how you can change it. You will know how to control all the basic settings of your WordPress site ready for launch.
